This is for you, Bart!

This blog, and the adventure it describes, are dedicated to my friend, co-worker and fellow adventure lover, Bart.
Bart would prefer to be riding his Moto Guzzi down a scenic road,
but unfortunately he is limited by health issues.

My hat (helmet) is off to you, my friend, and I hope you will get some enjoyment from
reading about my little adventure until you are well enough to get back to planning your own.

Cheers,
Rick.

Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.
Security does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
but I have promises to keep,
and miles to go before I sleep.

Tahoe

I found a place to stay in Tahoe City so I can shower, recharge all the batteries, etc.
The route from Nevada over to Tahoe had some serious mountain twisties - They try to save money by eliminating the guardrails, so it's not for the faint of heart.

Tomorrow night I hope to be in Oregon.
Here are some misc. photos I haven't posted yet.

I think this is a Joshua Tree:

A wide angle view of Rachel, NV with all her charm:

My campsite in Rachel. Note the poor aliens had to call a tow truck for their saucer...

  1. Rick, Just north of you on the map is Truckee, CA. We spent the night there in, I believe 1976. It is a ski resort and it was in the summer. We almost got it free.
